My name is Derek V. Knoderer, and this is my website. I am a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, holding a BA in Theatre Arts.

For four years, I called New York City home. Currently, I call Washington, DC home. Washington, DC doesn't call me anything. Honestly, I don't think she even knows I exist.

My particular interests lie in sound design and performance. Companies that push the limits of technology and multimedia in the theatre make me drool. So does chocolate. God I love chocolate.

Working environments that demand a collaborative effort are preferable. I've never been very good at the whole misunderstood-loner-artist thing.

To be perfectly frank, I am completely and hopelessly obsessed and in love with the theatre. I regard it as perhaps the ultimate form of communication. Or more accurately, that's the potential I see in it.

I regard both laughter and music as crucial parts of life.

My comedic timing and knowledge of classical music come straight from Looney Tunes. Who knew Rossini wrote so many good overtures? Apparently Warner Brothers, that's who.

I don't really like doing things the traditional or tried-and-true way, but I think it's good to know what they are.
