My name is Derek V. Knoderer, and this is my website. I am a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, holding a BA in Theatre Arts. Currently, I am based out of New York City.

Dependent upon my continued residency in New York is employment. This site is supposed to help me with that.

My particular interests lie in sound design and performance. Companies that push the limits of technology and multimedia in the theatre make me salivate.

Working environments that demand a collaborative effort are preferable. I've never been very good at the whole misunderstood-loner-artist thing.

Frankly, I am completely and hopelessly obsessed and in love with the theatre. I regard it as perhaps the ultimate form of communication.

I adapt well to most situations, and am a quick study.
If I don't know how to do it (and need to know), by gum, I'll learn how to do it. I am self-taught with regards to many things. Of which this website is one example.

I regard both laughter and music as crucial parts of life.

My comedic timing and knowledge of classical music come straight from Looney Tunes. And my parents.
My inappropriate sense of humor comes from my mother; my booming laugh from my father.
Gotta love the parents.

I don't really like doing things the traditional or tried-and-true way.
Hence both my approach with — and use of — this website for finding employment.
